Wow, this is fantastic! I'm going through this right now, only I'm having a core biopsy on Wednesday, not the fine needle variety. No, mine will be ultrasound guided, and vacuum assisted. I already wish I hadn't had the mammogram that placed undue pressure on my mass. Yes, it's more than a lump, it's a painful mass I first discovered several months ago and deemed nothing to worry about, only perimenopausal lumpiness. I just turned 50, so assumed everything. Now, after the life flashing before my eyes settled back into a day to day existence, the thoughts of alternatives to mastectomies and chemo and radiation are surfacing. I don't want to do the usual. I don't want to be scared into anything I will regret later.

    If, if, if, if.

Thanks for being there, and for writing.

You write so beautifully. Such a sad and yet uplifting tale. XO
