A long-distance member of my SF writing group came from NYC to visit us all for a week...and to read some of her wonderful poems.
I ate a grilled cheese sandwich, sipped a glass of red wine, and sat at a tiny tiny table with Jack, Barb, Doug, and Mary Ann. Eric was nearby, as were Karen's non-TIAPOSian friends Sharon, Deb and others.
Three other poets read, but I had ears only for Ms. K. Seriously, had it not been for her stuff, I would have rather stayed home. I don't mean to be mean, but mostly I find poetry readings to be insufferable.
Karen's work truly was an exception. Sure, I'd have found something nice to say if I hadn't liked it, but I did like it, so I didn't have to pretend, thank goodness.
I think it's time for her to do another book.

I had a terrific time and my latte was terrific. Ms. K's poetry is sublime. I love this photo of her...

Couldn't agree more. Beautiful photo, too, of course.
