Today, Oct. 17th, last day of LitCrawl (on Valencia, Guerrero and Mission Streets this evening), will be featuring several of our Writing Salon teachers and/or students or former students. Here are names of the ones I noticed while scrolling down. There may be other former students of ours, too, but of course I don't remember all the names of our last 11 years' worth of students (although I actually do remember a whole bunch of them!).
Phase I (click here for full schedule): Lots of people are participating in numerous places on Valencia, but keep a special eye out for Writing Salon alumni Karen Hildebrand, who will be reading her poetry at Artzone Gallery, 461 Valencia St. with other poets from NYC, 6 to 7 p.m. Also our Berkeley fiction teacher, Jamey Genna, who will be reading at Dalva, 3121 16th St., also 6 to 7 p.m.
Phase II (click here for full schedule): Our SF Intro to Creative Writing teacher, Jenny Pritchett, representing Fourteen Hills Press, will be at City Arts Gallery, 828 Valencia St., 7 to 8 p.m., and Writing Salon alumni Loren Rhoads (former longtime editor extraordinaire of Morbid Curiosity magazine) will be at Borderland Books, 866 Valencia St., 7 to 8 p.m. ("Zombie Fest - Tales of Urban Fantasy").
Phase III (click here for full schedule): Join our humor writing teacher, Pamela Bass, who has done some very funny travel pieces, at The Liberties, 998 Guerrero St., for a fun travel writers' reading, 8 to 9 p.m. Or catch our current fiction workshop teacher, Josh Mohr, as well as a former Writing Salon fiction teacher, Emily Mitchell, at Artillery Gallery, 2751 Mission St. ("As You Like It: Imaginations without Limit"), 8 to 9 p.m.
