Jane Underwood

2011 update: I'm a 58-year-old self-employed small business owner (of The Writing Salon, founded in 1999), the mother of a 27-year-old circus performer son, and the Signifcant Other of a wonderful man, Jack; we've been together almost ten years -- lived next door to each other for five and have been living together for five. I am also a writer (personal essays/memoir, poetry, erotica, journalism) and amateur photographer (as of four years ago).

Since our children (Jack has two from a former marriage) have flown from the nest, Jack and I now co-parent a hybrid terrier muttress named Olivia (we think she's a combo of wire-haired pointing griffon, Irish terrier, overly large border terrier, and numerous other breeds), and an enigmatic cat who prefers to remain anonymous. We live in the best neighborhood in San Francisco (no bias here), Bernal Heights, where I frequently roam around taking photos of decaying walls, old fences, trees, leaves and sometimes even people.

I blog a lot. Would rather do that than get sucked into Facebook frivolity. I know that makes me the odd person out when it comes to social networking, but that's just the kind of gal I am.
